Name?
[edit]After some deliberation, I deleted three paragraphs of uncited opinions.
Is Kuttab his real name? If I'm not mistaken, it means "writer" (or something like that) in Arabic.WQUlrich (talk) 05:08, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, Kuttab is his surname, and yes it does mean "Writer". As with many surnames from different cultures, his name is from the vocation or avocation of one of his ancestors. I know this because I'm married to one of his cousins. Daoud maintains a web presence on facebook and also at http://www.daoudkuttab.com where you can find more details about him along with a large number of his writings.

PEN/Barbara Goldsmith Freedom to Write Award
[edit]The article claimed Kuttab won the PEN/Barbara Goldsmith Freedom to Write Award, but he's not on their list of winners. I've pulled it now pending citation to a reliable source (not his website). Cheers Khazar (talk) 16:57, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- I've also removed the Leipzig Media Institute award claim pending citation, since the previous one appeared to be an error or deliberately false info. -- Khazar (talk) 17:00, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
