Propose to revert the suggestion of CAC having possibly developed abiogenically

CAC's "central importance to many biochemical pathways suggests that it was one of the earliest components of metabolism and may have originated abiogenically."

This language was introduced here supported by a reference to Nick Lane's "Life Ascending." While I haven't read the book, I'm skeptical it supports the claim. Eden hochbaum (talk) 19:09, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ubiquinone is the correct substrate of the enzyme known as succinate-coenzyme Q reductase or succinate dehydrogenase. Genome42 (talk) 23:01, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The isocitrate dehydrogenase reaction is not correct. There is no free proton produced so the products should be 2-oxoglutarate CO2 NADH. The correct reaction has been displayed for more than half a century on the standard entries for this enzyme (see "EC 1.1.1.41". Expasy. Retrieved 2024-02-01.).
