Please add the country of Old Great Bulgaria to the establishment timeline. Thank you:-) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Great_Bulgaria 2003:CD:DF14:914B:5530:A12A:C7B1:EAE4 (talk) 22:32, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: While a good concern, this is a misuse of edit requests. Edit requests confide in the user making the request, and assume the user has something specific to change or to add. (Sample edit requests)
Vague asks like these can be suggested simply by adding a topic to the talk page. No edit request is needed.

It is necessary to add the foundation date of Old Great Bulgaria - 632, and the correct date of the end of the Second Bulgarian Empire, which is 1422, with death of the last bulgarian medieval tsar - Constantine II. The fact that he was “emperor of Bulgaria” was attested by king Sigismund referring to Constantine as the "distinguished Constantine, glorious Emperor of Bulgaria" I.sevriyski (talk) 23:59, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Shadow311 (talk) 19:47, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please add something

[edit]

Add something about the Bulgarian word for Raspberries, Malina, seems a little random I know but there's a reason, if you would you could also mention how the name Maleena stems form this. 168.102.132.44 (talk) 17:05, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

please add the bulgarian word for "cheese" as well, it helps us all out 2600:1700:1150:41B0:9CFB:6F5E:D7E2:2BA (talk) 01:30, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bulgaria is considered the oldest nation-state in Europe, which has never changed its name since its creation in 681 to this day. Bulgaria is also the cradle of Slavic civilization with its role as the birthplace of the Cyrillic alphabet. His historical, cultural and spiritual influence on the Slavic peoples is enormous. Apart from the Cyrillic alphabet, Bulgaria has also contributed to Slavic culture by being the country that Christianized the huge mass of the Slavic population. It is believed that this happened during the time of the Bulgarian emperor Samuil (997-1014). It was through the spread of the Cyrillic alphabet, Orthodox Christianity and Slavic literature that Bulgaria practically civilized the entire Slavic world, incorporating it into Old Bulgarian (Slavic) culture and spirituality, becoming the cultural and spiritual center of Slavic Europe.

Note. I suggest that this text be added at the beginning of the article, right before the paragraph that talks about Bulgaria being a country with high incomes (and this is the last paragraph before the "Etymology" section begins). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ivaylo2003bg (talkcontribs) 19:25, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The lead already mentions that the Cyrillic script was developed in the First Bulgarian Empire. If you want to add new content in the lead, you have to make changes in the body of the article first, because the lead is a summary of the body. Make sure to cite reliable sources. Academic sources are good examples of reliable sources for such material. Furthermore, "it is believed" is not good wording. We should stick to key facts. I think something more about its contribution to Slavic culture could be added in the lead though. StephenMacky1 (talk) 21:32, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
