minor mistake

"stowage compartments" is written in the last section. it is not wrong, but i would prefer "storage compartments" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iamcon (talkcontribs) 07:20, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have worked in the Defence Materiel Organisation for some time in a number of projects (including the ASLAV Program). I can confirm that the use of the term "stowage compartments" is correct for Australian military vehicles. Locating items within military vehicles in Australia is always referred to as "stowage" rather than "storage". Each of the different ASLAV variants has its own Stowage Plan that details where all of the items of the load list are stowed. "Storage" is usually used in reference to storing the vehicle (usually within a vehicle bay located in a compound) and there is generally some level of preparation required prior to storage of a vehicle. In the case of an ASLAV, this involves connecting up a trickle charger to the batteries and connecting a dehumidifier that blows dehumidified air through the vehicle to prevent the build up of mould and fungus (especially important for vehicles located at 2 Cav in Darwin) 220.244.97.2 (talk) 16:24, 11 September 2009 (UTC) SMOFAD 220.244.97.2 (talk) 16:24, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was once a driver and operated the turret and weapon systems of the ASLAV and can confirm that "stowage" is indeed the correct term to use. --152.91.9.153 (talk) 00:35, 19 January 2010 (UTC) Ex-Trooper, 2nd Cavalry Regt - 2001 to 2006[reply]
