Summary

Description
English: Lyrebird (Menura novaehollandiae) John Gould's painting is of specimens at the British Museum, which had been prepared for display by a taxidermist who had never seen a live Lyrebird, with the result that, unfortunately, the tail in the display is not accurate within this painting.
