The photograph was taken in January 2007 at the Corus chess tournament in Wijk aan Zee by Frederick Friedel. In an email sent on 30 May 2007, he wrote:
"However I am attaching two pictures I took this January in Wijk aan Zee of this remarkable young girl. You are free to use them and put them in the public domain."
As permitted by Mr Friedel, this image was edited (scale to 220px width) from the attached file "hou02.jpg". I did not create this image as it is based on the work of Mr Friedel, but since I was given permission to place it into the public domain, I do so and thus select "You created this yourself, it is all your own work and release it to the public domain" as the "license".
This work has been released into the public domain by its author, Laserlight at English Wikipedia. This applies worldwide.
