"Easy" is a song by Dominican-American singer DaniLeigh. It was later remixed with additional vocals from American R&B singer Chris Brown,[2] and released on May 31, 2019, as a single under Def Jam Recordings.[3]

The remix of the song peaked at number 79 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Background

[edit]

"Easy" was originally contained in DaniLeigh's 2018 project The Plan, as a solo version.[1][4] The official remix of "Easy" featuring Chris Brown was then released on May 31, 2019, as a single.[2] During a 2019 interview with Revolt, the Dominican singer explained how Brown's involvement on the track happened saying: “Man, Chris Brown brought a lot to the record. I thank him. He’s an amazing artist. He’s, I’d say, a living legend. We were friends. We were planning on working and I finally ended up going to the studio. I pretty much was just playing him records and I played him ‘Easy’, and he’s like, ‘Yo, let me hop on this right now’”.[1][5]

Composition

[edit]

"Easy (Remix)" is an R&B slow-jam written by DaniLeigh and Brown, and produced by Fallon King and Christopher Allen Clark, that runs for three minutes and seven seconds. Lyrically on the track, the singers explore themes of intimacy, affection and romance.[6]

Music video

[edit]

The music video for "Easy (Remix)" was shot in May 2019,[7] and released on June 11, 2019.[8] The music video was directed by Divad, and features both artists execute complex dancing choreographies together.[8]
