- Comment: It talks nearly 60% about Variety's report and only 40% about the television series. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 19:04, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Development
[edit]In July 2021, Variety reported that Netflix was developing a live-action television series for the streaming service Netflix centered on the Pokémon franchise.[1] The move to develop an original Netflix Pokémon series comes as the streamer has made itself the home to multiple existing Pokémon shows, including Pokémon: Indigo League and Pokémon Journeys: The Series among others.[1]
In April 2023, it was reported that the series could potentially focus on Ash Ketchum and his partner Pikachu, and that Netflix would shift their focus after the conclusion of Stranger Things (2016-2025).[2]
Release
[edit]The untitled series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix, with the first season consisting of eight episodes.[3]
