Macrobond Financial is a privately held data provider and analytics software company. It delivers data analysis and charting tools as well as access to a database containing hundreds of millions of macroeconomic, financial, and equity time series.[1]. Macrobond's tools and services are used at central banks, ministries of finance, universities,[2][3][4][5][6] commercial banks,[7] research institutions and other organizations working with macroeconomic and financial data[8]. The research done using Macrobond application is quoted in official government,[9][10] research[11][12][13][14] and commercial[15][16] publications.
Macrobond was founded and registered in Sweden in 2007.[17] The first offices were located in Malmö, Göteborg and Eskilstuna.
The company was registered for business in Poland in 2008[18] and opened an office in Szczecin.[19] In 2013 the company was listed among the largest foreign investors in the city.[20][21]
The first version of the Macrobond application was released for sale in 2010.[22] The company expanded in the Nordic markets after which it expanded its market to Continental Europe and the United Kingdom. In 2011 Macrobond Financial Pty. Ltd. was registered in the United Kingdom and the London office in 2013. In the following years Macrobond established daughter companies in the United States, Hong Kong, Portugal, Germany and opened offices in New York, Hong Kong, Lisbon and Frankfurt. In 2015 Macrobond Financial received the DI Gasell prize in Sweden, presented annually to the fastest growing companies in the country.[23]
Macrobond Application
[edit]The application runs on the Microsoft Windows operating systems and directly integrates with Microsoft Office. It can provide data to the 3rd party statistical software programs Eviews and MatLab[24], locally running Python and R scripts. It can also access the time series data from Bloomberg Terminal and SQL Databases via .NET Data Providers.
The most recent release of the Macrobond application is version 1.29.[25]
