History
[edit]The firm was founded in 2019 by Beenu Aurora.[1], Manish Chachada. The firm participated in Y-Combinator Winter 2021 (W21) cohort and was provided with pre-seed funding in January 2021, and in March 2021 the company raised $4 million in seed funding[2], and in February 2022 obtained series A funding of $10 million, and in July 2023 raised series B funding of $24 million[3] and in October 2023 further went on to raise $6.2 million additional in expanded series B round[4].
The company gained attention when it disclosed over 500,000 Zoom accounts were being sold on dark web forums, according Bleeping Computer Cyble reached out to purchase a large number of accounts in bulk so that they could be used to warn their customers of the potential breach and discovered that these accounts include ones for well-known companies such as Chase, Citibank, educational institutions, and more.
In June 2020 The Indian Express reported that Cyble researchers have identified over 100,000 national IDs of Indians such as Aadhaar, PAN were put for sale on the dark net[5].
In August 2021 Cyble disclosed 1 million[6] of stolen credit cards put on the dark web forum. According to the report published by Threat Post, researchers from threat intelligence firm Cyble noticed the leak of the payment-card data during a “routine monitoring of cybercrime and Dark Web marketplaces[7].
In May 2024 Cyble published its research on ransomware highlighting the rise of ransomware attacks on US healthcare, According to CBS News Cyble has identified 77 ransomware attacks targeting US healthcare facilities[8]
In June 2024 Cyble identified Belarusian hackers target Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence in new espionage campaign[9].
In August 2024 Wipro announced[10] its partnership with Cyble to integrate Cyble's AI-driven threat intelligence platforms within its cybersecurity frameworks. This announcement caused the stock of Wipro to rise by 2%[11].
