2024 Uttarakhand local elections

2024 Uttarakhand municipal general elections^[1]^[2] are expected to be held in October or November 2024 to elect members of all 102 municipalities in the state. There are 11 Municipal Corporations, 41 Municipal Councils and 50 Nagar Panchayats in the state of Uttarakhand.

Background

The schedule of the tenure of urban local bodies in Uttarakhand excluding Roorkee, Bajpur, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Selakui and Gangotri was supposed to end on 2 December 2023. However, elections were delayed due to the delay in delimitation of the constituencies and the publication of rolls. The election is now expected to be held between October to November 2024.^[3]
