Coco Gauff (pictured at practice) won her first WTA 500 singles title.

Coco Gauff defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2023 Washington Open. She did not lose a set en route to her fourth WTA Tour singles title. Gauff became the youngest person to win the WTA 500 title since its reorganization in 2021.[1]

Liudmila Samsonova was the defending champion, from when the event was at the WTA 250 level,[2] but lost in the semifinals to Gauff.
