Rating Problems

The show never gained a foothold in the ratings despite being sponsored by Macy's and having guest appearances from celebrities (such as Toni Braxton) as well as visits of hosts from more successful ABC shows (such as Good Morning America, The View and The Chew).

The Revolution is the lowest-rated show among all daytime programs on the three major networks. [16] To date, The Revolution has attracted on average an audience of 1.5 million viewers daily, of which 370.000 are in the women 18-49 targeted demographic.[17] Its first episode on January 16, 2012, got 1.9 million viewers and remains the show's highest-rated episode ever. In the month of March 2012, The Revolution averaged 1.3 million daily viewers, roughly half the viewership of the program it replaced.[18]

Cancellation

On April 11, 2012, ABC announced its decision to cancel the series, due to low ratings. The show will last air on July 6, 2012, being temporarily replaced by a Good Morning America-branded afternoon program (tentatively titled GMA in the Afternoon) until September 7, 2012. General Hospital is a candidate to permanently replace The Revolution in its 2 p.m. ET slot on September 10, 2012. [19][17][20]
