IndyFurCon 2020
IndyFurCon 2020 was to be the eleventh instance of the IndyFurCon convention. It initially delayed to being held over August 28-30, 2020. The opening of hotel registration was delayed due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19[1]. On May 26, 2020, an announcement of the convention's cancellation[2] was posted on Twitter.
However, on August 12[3], IndyFurCon 2020 re-branded as "IndyFurCon: Live!" for this year by hosting an online iteration including a livestream featuring panels, dances, and other events on their main website separately from their Telegram group.
Instead of using a pre-built system, Razeth built a dedicated streaming platform to deliver the stream all over the world with insanely low latency. Drittauge also assisted with the live stream, helping operate sound, and a few other network level systems. A ballroom was built virtually in VRChat by Firr for the event.
There were 1,040 attendees from all over the world. There was also 1,356 hits on the VRChat world. Over $4,000 was raised for the EARPS charity during the online convention. 1.857 TB of data was streamed for the event.
