Does this exist in Turkish (as an alternative form of darı)?  --Lambiam 17:13, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Lambiam: There's many hits for dariyi etc. on Google Books but I can't really make out the meaning in most cases (just well enough to know that they don't refer to aliments). There's also Dârî (nationality). The corn/maize entry is however most likely a mistake (added here by, sorry, a user who regularly creates stubs in languages he doesn't know; he probably read DARI somewhere and thought it is the same as dari). The fact that he also wrote misir instead of mısır makes this theory pretty undeniable. Not opposed to speedying. — Fytcha T | L | C 18:29, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't see many GBS hits on dariyi that are for that word; most are actually for darıyı. In some contexts where I see enough to discern a meaning, dari appears to refer to a housing unit, such as a flat, undoubtedly related to archaic dar (“house”). In view of your findings regarding the incompetence of the user who added this (I did not spot the giveaway misir) deletion appears indeed indicated.  --Lambiam 19:33, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
