- Ok. I'll remove the tag. When I added the tag, the entry did not specify which sense of "quill" was meant. Now fixed by someone, thanks. Hekaheka (my phone does not allow me to sign properly)
- "Widespread use" is usually invoked in cases where a term was in general use, but possibly just "regionally", eg, North America. I don't see why it couldn't be invoked for widespread use in a special field, but I don't think a precedent to that effect has been established. In any event, it wasn't hard to find three cites.
