Ἀχέρων
Ancient Greek
editEtymology
editPre-Greek. Connection to Proto-Balto-Slavic *éźera (“lake”) is dubious.[1][2] Folk etymology claims it from ὁ ἄχεα ῥέων (ho ákhea rhéōn, “the stream of woe”).
