Etymology

From Pali anumati (agreement; consent; etc), from anu (after; along; accordant; etc) mati (opinion; view; etc); ultimately from Sanskrit अनुमति (anumati, idem), from अनु (anu, idem) मति (mati, idem); equivalent to Thai อนุ (à-nú)มติ (má-dtì). Cognate with Khmer អនុមតិ (ʼɑɑnumteʼ), Lao ອະນຸມັດ (ʼa nu mat).
