πέμπτος
See also: πεμπτός
Ancient Greek
editEtymology
editFrom Proto-Hellenic *penkʷtos, derived from Proto-Indo-European *pénkʷe. Equivalent to πέντε (pénte, “five”) -τος (-tos, adjectival suffix), but the Proto-Hellenic labiovelar *kʷ developed into the labial π (p) instead of the dental consonant τ (t).
