I have no problem with the article saying that "the claim is disputed" rather than "the evidence is disputed". But there was no need to shout. DavidWard ^talk 13:12, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Budvar page

Hi, I edited the products just to beers, as per your talk page comment. The page did not appear to be locked thought. I think what may be confusing is that they've got two ways of editing the page: "Edit" is simpler and does the changes in real time, but does not allow you to change things like templates and "Edit Source" where you can change everything but isn't as user friendly. Marquess of Granby

Hi - I saw your edit to the article on John Manners, Marquess of Granby. I am sure you are right that the spelling used at the time and later by his family was "Marquis". Nevertheless Wikipedia strives for consistency of style and the guidance is very clear: "Marquess" should always be used, never "Marquis", for the British rank. Please read WP:PEER. Best wishes. Then the guidance is wrong. Wikipedia should not, and cannot, dictate to the Manners family how they spell the word Marquis, and should not use the wrong spelling - it should reflect the actuality, not its own style choices. Zythophile (talk) 12:16, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

I hear what you say but if we want to use Wikipedia then we all have to abide by the guidance and this guidance is clear - it is presumably intended to avoid a multitude of different spellings. You can argue your case at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Peerage and Baronetage but unless the guidance is changed we are stuck with it. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 12:41, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

I have indeed just made the point at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Peerage and Baronetage that the guidelines are wrong, and Wikipedia is denying the Manners family the right to spell their titles they way they wish to. Wikipedia style rules cannot dictate to the Marquis of Granby how he spells his title, and for Wikipedia to try to inist that they should is both rude and wrong. Zythophile (talk)
