Why don't you make pie diagrams of this
editHi,
Why don't you make pie diagrams of
this study too?
You have listed it as a D1S80 study. What is it? And how is the study you have drawn your pie diagrams, the Kshatriya's study from 1995 done? Since you are such an expert, may be you can explain how Kshatriya's study was done?
The origin theories are NOT the cause for the conflict in Sri Lanka. You don't have to look very closely to see the differences between the Tamils and the Sinhalese. Really, do we need genetical studies to see that these people have different recent ancestors or have differentiated very much if they did have very recent common ancentors? How recent is it, then to be so differentiated? Even the very early colonial rulers from the 16th C.E saw this. If the Sinhalese and the Tamils had the same origins, they would be talking the same language, having the same culture etc, and then ofcourse you are right - there would not have been a conflict. But we were not so lucky as to have the absolute same origins. We don't know much about who came from where and when, but the fact that the Sinhalese have a great affinity to North India, both genetically and linguistically is undeniable. It is not a myth.

editHi,
I just wanted to say I really appreciate the work you have done in terms of history of Sri Lankan people. My ancestry is mixed but mostly sinhala and I have always been curious as to the origins and migration patterns of these peoples, so I just wanted to drop a line to say that I'm really grateful for all the effort you have put in! Thanks,
