The Core Contest winners announced
The winners of the 2023 The Core Contest are announced 🎉. We had an amazing set of improvements this year, and the judges (Femke, Aza24 and Casliber) would like to thank everybody who joined and congratulate the winners.
- First place goes to Buidhe for improving The Holocaust; very core, highly relevant; their work on bringing geographical balance to the article puts the topic in a whole different light. We also commend improvements to sourcing and prose
- A close second place goes to Phlsph7 for improving Education from an unstructured jumble into a well-sourced piece of instruction
- Third prize goes to Johnbod for improving Donatello, a near five-fold expansion with great sourcing and fantastic imagery
- A tie for fourth place goes to Thebiguglyalien for improving Crime, for a strong improvement in sourcing
- A tie for fifth place goes to Sammielh for International law, improved by converting contextless listicles into a proper sourced prose
If you wish to start or stop receiving news about The Core Contest, please add or remove yourself from the delivery list. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 20:07, 21 June 2023 (UTC)

A plate of Idli for you!
A plate of Idli for you | ||
Here is a plate of Idli for you. Idli is a south Indian food which became popular throughout India over time. Generally Idli is served with sambar and chutney. The earliest mention of Idli can be found in a writing called Vaddaradhane by Shivakotiacharya written in around 920 A.D. For your help on the WikiProject Userboxes Ideas page. Thank you. Question from DJ Gordon2 (16:30, 13 July 2023)
Am i able to make my own articles --DJ Gordon2 (talk) 16:30, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @DJ Gordon 2:, thanks for the question. To create articles, your account must be over days old and have made over 10 edits, which you do not. Not to worry, you can still create articles, by submitting them to a review process called Articles for Creation. You can submit a draft at the Article Wizard. Please also read WP:FIRST for tips on how to write your first article. Let me know if you have any more questions. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 02:34, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Question from Mattherskowitz (18:26, 17 July 2023)
Hello!
I'm working on a page for my boss, who's a production executive with a great deal of film credits and notability. I'm wondering how many edits I need before I can go about creating and publishing his page?
Thanks! --Mattherskowitz (talk) 18:26, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Mattherskowitz:. It is strongly discouraged to write an article about someone you know due to the many biases this introduces. Please carefully read Wikipedia's page on conflict of interests. A conflict of interest—which you have—must be declared; see this page on how to do so. One way is by putting the text "{{UserboxCOI}}" on your user page in source mode. Here are instructions.
- If you still decide to create the article, know that your account must be over 4 days old and have made over 10 edits. In the meantime, you can still create articles, by submitting them to a review process called Articles for Creation. You can submit a draft at the Article Wizard. Please also read WP:FIRST for tips on how to write your first article. Let me know if you have any further questions. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 02:58, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
"505" article
Hey, I re-submitted the draft for "505" by Arctic Monkeys like four months ago, and no one has reviewed it (probably because there are way to many drafts waiting for review). Can you please give it another review? Thanks.
Sincerely, Dontuseurrealname (talk) 21:38, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
