Stop adding {{INRConvert}} to infoboxes, please

edit

Please stop adding INRConvert templates to infoboxes,[1][2][3][4] (etc.) please. Per longstanding consensus at WT:ICTF, we don't do this anymore. That's been the standard for like 3 years. Also, please stop arbitrarily changing million to crore. Per WP:COMMONALITY, the community prefers that numbers be indicated in millions. I personally prefer using crore, but if millions are already there, don't change it. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:40, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

And don't fabricate data either, as you did here and here, etc. All content needs to be sourced. And no, bestoftheyear.in is not suitable. Stick to mainstream sources, not blogs or other garbage sites. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources. Fabricating content is a very quick way to wind up no longer welcome to edit at Wikipedia. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:48, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
And this is indistinguishable from vandalism, since the reference says 17 crore, not 21 as you claim. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:58, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Sam Worthington, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 16:00, 9 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I do not understand what exactly I did wrong. I had improved the readability of the information on Sam Worthington's page by writing more coherently consistent sentences. I also improved the manner in which the paragraphs were structured. I felt that the information available on the site on Sam Worthington i
is far too limited. The current information does not include the box office success Worthington enjoyed during and post the success of Avatar (2009). It also doesn't haenough ny information on his work from 2013 to 20 1. Moreover, it lacks information of his involvement in Avatar So as a result, 2 had updated the page. I. I think Worthington's page needs to be updated and I request that the changes I made must be reverted back. Please feel free to offer any feedback. Hi @Parminder Sarwara. I am @Archer1234. I noticed your recent edit to Bobby Deol where you updated the gross box office receipts for Animal.

Thank you for that update. However, please remember to update the |date= and |access-date= parameters of the citation when you update the value of the gross receipts. I have done that for you here. Thank you. Happy editing.  — Archer (t·c) 14:28, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detectedthat when you recently edited Sunny Deol, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Anil Sharma. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Salman Khan, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 03:04, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I did add a reliable source at the end from "Box Office India". BOI is the most cited source of commercial success of Indian films on Wikipedia. The source I cited lists entire filmography of Khan from start to finish and their performances. In the future, don't remove content without reading proof reading the source. Parminder Sarwara (talk) 03:09, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
It is WP:SYNTH to perform that sort of analysis (it's even uncertain whether declaring decades to be the article-sections is itself WP:OR or editorializing). Another editor had already objected to it, so your reinsertion is the fundamental problem...need to discuss and get consensus rather than the appearance of starting an edit-war. DMacks (talk) 03:19, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Alright then, let's discuss it. How is that WP:SYNTH? The source I cited literally mentions the words, hit, flop, average etc. Since the article specifically states that information, it's not WP:SYNTH. Parminder Sarwara (talk) 03:46, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
You are using the raw data to make an analysis. Obviously there were lots of films that had poor financial and/or critical results, and a few that did well. But who are we to say that overall this was the lowest phase? Couldn't one or two successes be considered more important than lots of non-successes? It might or might not be true, but that's why we need a reliable source to draw any conclusion. Obviously there were some good and some bad in the 2000–2010 range. But again, who are we to demarcate this as the range of the "fluctuations" (weren't there already two flops in 1999?). DMacks (talk) 06:06, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Pinging Ravensfire, who undid your edit the first time you made it (and I see has similar concerns). DMacks (talk) 06:27, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Parminder Sarwara, I will second all of those concerns from DMacks and I will also point out that just as before, you're starting to edit-war over this and not discussing your edits. Your revert of mine was NOT a minor edit, so you wrongly used that option. You're making edits that are poor writing and are NOT supported by the sources. This must stop. In this case, as I said, you need to have a source that explicitly makes the statements in your edit. Here's an easy hint that you completely skipped in your comment here - NOTHING in the source covers the critical response. Nothing. As DMacks said, you need a source that is doing that analysis, not you taking data points and drawing your own conclusion. That is textbook WP:SYNTH. Ravensfire (talk) 13:21, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Buddy you had no problems undoing my edits without discussion, why am I obliged to start a discussion with you if I wanna undo your edits. What goes around comes around. Parminder Sarwara (talk) 16:06, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Adding uncited analysis is not acceptable. That was explained in the WP:ES. WP:ONUS is on you to get a ref, therefore it is acceptable to remove uncited content. I would not recommend going down the path you seem to be starting. WP:POINT, WP:HOUNDING, and general threats will quickly lead to you being blocked altogether. I can tell by your talkpage you have a history of not behaving collaboratively and in keeping with our behavioral and content standards. DMacks (talk) 18:31, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
You said I need sources to back up the lowest phase claim, so once I find the source, it's logical that I post my edit back on Khan's page with citation. Isn't that what you asked for?
So what do you want me to do now? Find a source and be like "Hey DMack, look I found a source!" They you're going to read the source and give me a thumbs up? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely asking.
And how can you block me? Are you a rank above me? What is my rank? Parminder Sarwara (talk) 03:08, 10 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's called WP:BRD - you Boldly make a change, but when it's Reverted, you need to start the Discussion. Ravensfire (talk) 21:47, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
So the problem you have is with the sentence stating "lowest phase", you could have asked for citation rather than deleting it. I'll find sources about it and repost my edit with the source. Parminder Sarwara (talk) 16:04, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Ranveer Singh shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. What is your big plan here? You deleted our discussion from your page when you felt cornered and now you're sending a pre-written warning? I have already explained this to you that RS is not an established actor and thus far you have not provided a single counterargument. I am not going to just forget about this. So how about it we discuss it and reach a conclusion? Parminder Sarwara (talk) 09:54, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Sumanuil. Thank you for your recent contributions to Vatsal Sheth. I noticed that you added an image to the article's infobox as a thumbnail. In future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox, as this is against the Manual of Style. When adding an image, supply only the filename to the |image= parameter and the caption to the |caption= parameter instead. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using; please consult the Template page for the infobox being used on that page for proper instructions and documentation.
