Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Moving Abadan, Iran
editTo preserve page history, the page should be moved rather than "copy/pasted". To do this use the db-move template on the page with the redirect where you want the page moved to, Abadan, put {{db-move|Abadan, Iran| *your move reason here* }} at the very top of the page (before the redirect). An administrator vet your reason and if acceptable, will delete Abadan, then move Abadan, Iran to that page. It usually take less than a day. Feel free to continue editing Abadan, Iran before it is moved. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 08:44, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Azerbaijan article is not Iran article. Learn the meaning of the word of Prehistory. Your edits in Azerbaijan article is persian propaganda. Wikipedia is not place of propaganda. Qara khan 14:55, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

I struggle to see how using only talk summaries and hurled insults on personal talk pages is a good strategy for resolving this issue. You two (Qara Xan, Mervzi) should take this dispute to the template talk page, possibly with an RfC and stop the senseless edit-warring. siafu (talk) 19:54, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 1
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Karapapak, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Turcomans (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ardabil or Ardebil ?
editHi ! According to Iranica , the regular form of the name seems to be Ardabil . Due to the ancient root of the word Ardabil/Ardebil , that is ATRA , the new rendering of the name should be Ardabil rather than Ardebil ( note A in Arta than e ) . Thanks --Alborz Fallah (talk) 04:20, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- I think Ardebil is more common, specially it's pronunciation in Persian language is Ardebil usually (Fa: اردِبیل).--Mervzi (talk) 04:34, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- In common vulgar Persian maybe , like calling bread naan ( نان ) , noon ( نون ) , but Still in Persian dictionaries like Dehkhoda it is Ardabil . --Alborz Fallah (talk) 06:23, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- No problem. If you think Ardabil is the correct form, you can move it to Ardabil. But I think Ardebil is better than Ardabil. For example the old name of the Bander-Abbas was Gambron but today, people call this city as its modern name Bander-Abbas. Also Astar-Abad (modern Gorgan) and many other cities of the world. Roots are not so important in modern pronunciation of a city name. Many sources spell the Qazvin city in Ghazvin or Ahvaz in Ahwaz form but I think the best form is the closet to the modern common pronunciation.--Mervzi (talk) 06:49, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
- But the official name tends to be the old one . Indeed it is proof for ancient roots of of the name that is not Turkic . I like to get your approval before changing it to Ardabil : OK ? --Alborz Fallah (talk) 17:32, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed ?--Alborz Fallah (talk) 21:47, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
