Italian second spring offensive (1941)

There are a number of problems: a) the quality of English prose, please spend more time copyediting it. b) you have quite clearly used Carrier's work as your only source, but don't reference it, instead copying his own references verbatim (e.g. 'Ibid pp. 742-743'). This is a violation of WP:CITE and WP:VERIFY as you have not actually consulted these sources in person. It is also a violation of WP:PLAGIARISM as it copies text and references almost verbatim from a source without acknowledging it. c) the article title is highly problematic; it is not an offensive if you start following a retreating enemy after he has started withdrawing due to the actions of your ally. The second Italian Spring offensive was planned for March 30, 1941 but was postponed due to Yugoslavia's entry into the war. However, what pushed the Greeks to retreat was also the failed offensive against the Italians on April 3-8, 1941 which was supposed to lead to the conquest of Albania, together with the Yugoslavs, before the German intervention. Furthermore, the Greeks initially wanted to surrender on Albanian territory but this was not possible due to Italian pressure. In fact, the Italians entered northern Greece in cities such as Konitza, Filiates, Hani Delvinaki...). Furthermore, the deployment of the Greek rearguards from Mount Tomori to the sea had collapsed (Mario Montanari, Luigi Longo). So calling it a Greek retreat to delegitimize the Italian war effort is absolutely against the rules of Wikipedia. What was planned and when is irrelevant; what happened is. And the very sources that this article cites make clear that the Italians mostly followed the retreating Greeks, who retreated not because of any Italian action, but because of the German advance on their flanks. This is not 'delegitimizing the Italian war effort', it is following the sources without putting a spin on it influenced by Fascist wartime propaganda, desperate to claim some success of their own. The Greek forces, as I told you, were not forced to retreat only because of the German intervention, but also because of the failure of the last offensive of 3-8 April 1941 against the sectors of the Italian divisions "Taro" and "Venezia", ​​an aspect that is clearly ignored. Wikipedia's purpose is to report the existence of armed clashes. From 13 to 23 April 1941, numerous armed clashes occurred between Italian and Greek forces. Both Italian and German attacks against Greece contributed to the fall of the Greek forces in Albania and in mainland Greece. The Greek forces in Albania was forced to retreat was not because only to the German invasion in the mainland but because also to the supplies by the Greek forces which were depended on Britain was running out and the increasing Italian reinforcements to Albania. many might think that it is fascist propaganda, but in reality they are objective historical events reported by historical sources of the second post-war period. The purpose of Wikipedia is this: not to obscure to push forward a certain vision. If a scholar goes to read the histories of the Italian divisions, always on Wikipedia, he will notice how the Italian divisions were employed in armed clashes during the "battle of Greece" or "operation Marita". Jheeeeeeteegh, in my opinion Greek occupation of south(ern) Albania should be removed from the infobox as it is an intermediate result, but if it is to be included then it should be said when it started ("until April 1941", but from when?) and the previous Italian occupation of Epirus mentioned as well. Italian front (Worl War I)

Hi! I'm interested in your removal of several of high ranking officers. While I agree that it needs trimming, perhaps we should omit the trimming? See for example Svetozar Boroević, who was a generalfieldmarschal (equivalent of ie. the grossadmiral in the Navy). I suggest we discuss who we shall include in the infobox listings. Sorry but I'm afraid not, the Italian Front campaignbox already summarizes the supreme commanders (with the ranks of Chief of Staff of the Army, Chief of the General Staff or the title of Supreme Commander) who fought for the Isonzo front and the White War like Italian General Luigi Cadorna and Austrian generals: Archduke Friedrich and Conrad von Hötzendorf. Boroeviç commanded only the Isonzo front for the Austrians, but Boroeviç himself was subordinated to the Austrian Supreme Commander, Archduke Friedrich, which is why Friedrich is listed on the Italian front and not Boroević. And Boroevic was only listed on the Isonzo front campaignbox and not on the Italian front campaignbox. The Isonzo front was considered part or under the Italian front. Therefore, the campaignbox of the Italian front listed only the Generals with the title of Chief of Staff and Supreme Commanders who directed the whole front including the Isonzo front. Revert on Greco-Italian war

Hi,

I'm a bit confused as to why you reverted my edit on Greco-Italian War#German intervention and Italian second second offensive.

The reason I changed it is because it is incorrectly marked as the "second second offensive", i.e. repeating the word "second" and not including the word "spring". I edited it to "second spring offensive", to match the name of the linked article.

I am not the one who wrote the September 17 was the end date of the Allied invasion. I only reverted you because your are not following Wiki rules because you wrote the result as the Start of the Italian Civil war, so I restored it back with the result as Allied victory only.Jheeeeeeteegh (talk) 06:42, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
