PD-CAGov
editApropos http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:MarkSweep&diff=51075058&oldid=50304541 : The legal landscape seems to have changed. I'm thinking it may be time to resurrect PD-CAGov. See the ruling I discuss and link to in the new discussion on my talk page TJRC started. Let's discuss here. --Elvey (talk) 00:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
In reference to one of your old edits, you said you got an email from some CA lawyers. I am looking into the current view of the government, and would like pointers on who was the person and/or office you got an actual reply from. All the public officials I have tried to contact have been ducking the matter. I have enabled email on my account for this occasion. Int21h (talk) 17:58, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
File:Marx_generator.png SVG version
editYour file File:Marx_generator.png is currently tagged to be recreated in SVG. I see that you originally made it in Sodipodi. Would you happen to have the original SVG file somewhere? --Petteri Aimonen (talk) 15:33, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Article about PolyGame Master
editHi, I'm now the new contributor to Wikipedia. I was just wondering if it's OK to do the article for PolyGame Master. I'm not sure if I can do a same one like yours, which I realized, or create one from scratch. Thank you for understanding. Lambda Seven (talk) 01:01, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Duk! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Eduardo Martínez Somalo - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 15:59, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi Duk! Could you please give me the Kristo Kono page that you have deleted? I want to see what work has been done on him so far because I intend to write an article on this very important Albanian composer. Thanks! --sulmues (talk) 18:14, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:BanqiaoDamAfterFailure.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:BanqiaoDamAfterFailure.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:10, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:RapidQ.png
editThanks for uploading File:RapidQ.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 04:19, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Linkage (mechanical)
editI'm trying to figure out if there's a bad redirect. I came in looking for info on toggle switches, and was redirected to the Linkage_(mechanical) page. But, as somebody noted on the talk page back in 2008, the word "toggle" doesn't appear in the article, so the naive (that would be me) are baffled. I felt strongly enough about this to read about deleting redirects, but the warnings scared me off. Do you happen to know if the redirect is good? If it is, could you help me include the word "toggle" on the page? Thanks! Jo3sampl (talk) 03:39, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Public domain photo
editDuk,
Just wanted to ask for permission to credit you with the public domain photo on bioswale. I am being asked to collect images for a university book on sustainable communities and this one would fit. Can I use it? If so, who do I give photo credit to? Thanks. [email protected] 66.244.246.8 (talk) 22:23, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity
editFollowing a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. SODA CAN STOVE
editHello there, This might sound crazy, but I am the one who came up with the design of the "SODA CAN STOVE". I did so in 2000, when I was hiking on the AT. I have lots of witnesses, and had numerous workshops on how to make one. I also hiked in 2001, and showed lots of folks how to make one then. I can talk later about what inspired me. Mostly it was the Trangia design. My trail name was Leprechaun. It took me seven trys to get the design right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.137.160.113 (talk) 23:20, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Notice of change
editHello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

File:Columbia basin project.JPG missing description details
editis missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.
If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 22:58, 12 April 2013 (UTC)The article RESOLVE has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- I have looked through the company's "News" page and Google News for independent coverage of the organization, and found no substantial articles about the organization. Only passing references to their involvement in specific issues. See WP:COMPANY
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pete (talk) 18:38, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello there DUK. Mayb this site doesnt exist anymore, but I thought I'd give it a try.
I wanted to make a claim about the history of the soda can alcohol stove. I am in fact the person who created the model using aluminum cans. I did it on the appalachian trail in 2000. The design was based on a trangia that a friend of mine was using. I started in Damascus, Va. and by the time i got to PA, I had it figured out. I'm not sure how I can prove this claim, but I had friends witness my progress and taught many others how to make it. I have always considered it my "gift to the world" and wasn't very interested in patents or making any money from it. I can tell you more later if you are interested. Thanks for reading, Richard Brick aka "Leprechaun"
