San Antonio Brahmas roster

edit

Hi Danjobilly1. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to add the staff and roster to the article on the San Antonio Brahmas. Do you think you could make the roster into a template like what is done for other XFL teams (example)? Thanks. BeanieFan11 (talk) 23:46, 23 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Danjobilly1! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Note about when updating for transactions

edit

Hi Danjobilly1. Just wanted to let you know that its preferable (although not required) that when a player is signed or released by a team, that you update the section in the players' article on that team with a reference (what you're doing is just updating it without adding text regarding the signing/release [1] - something like this would be preferable). Thank you for keeping XFL player articles up to date! BeanieFan11 (talk) 00:25, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Fred Kaiss, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hampton. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I'm Eagles247. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Jordan Thomas (American football), but you didn't provide a reliable source. I guess I will take the block, but could you explain to me what I did wrong so I know not to do it again in the future? I felt like the pages I created were some of the bigger names in the XFL (as you may have seen I edit xfl pages and players a ton) and not sure what I did wrong in creating these. If I wanted to create pages again in the future what exactly do I have to do or make sure of so this does not happen in the future? Or what can I do to have the ones i've put work into get published? Thank you Danjobilly1 (talk) 14:46, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • @BeanieFan11: and Danjobilly1: WP:DISRUPTSIGNS #2 Is unwilling or unable to satisfy Wikipedia:Verifiability; fails to cite sources, cites unencyclopedic sources, misrepresents reliable sources, or manufactures original research. I sent three warnings on this talk page about not citing reliable sources, one about citing sources that misrepresent the content being cited, and a warning about using Google searches as a reference. Many of the citations in the group of 11 articles created in the span of a few days were either unreliable sources, Google searches, or do not appropriately back up the content cited. Additionally, none of the articles I moved to draftspace immediately satisfy GNG from what was cited, and one article was created in mainspace despite never making it out of AFC in draftspace (gaming the system by circumventing the AFC process). Once this block expires, please take the time to read through WP:RS and go through the Articles for Creation process with these articles. AFC is a great way to learn about the ins-and-outs of article creation for newer users and I hope you will take advantage of it. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:47, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

XFL reverts

edit

Hi Danjobilly1. I noticed you reverted several edits by an IP and me updating XFL player articles. It appears that the IP was reading off of the league's transaction list and I was finishing their incomplete edits. Each of the players were listed under the tag "roster addition." Doesn't that mean that they were signed, or does it mean something else that I'm not realizing? BeanieFan11 (talk) 12:32, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@BeanieFan11: It looks like the XFL held a "rights draft" on July 28 ([2]) with several players "selected" showing surprise on social media at their being associated with the league. The XFL News Hub article suggests these players may or may not ever sign with the league, but in the event that they do, those teams would hold their rights. For now it seems like a good idea to avoid updating their articles. Eagles 24/7 (C) 15:26, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Jordan Williams (linebacker)

edit

Hello Danjobilly1, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Jordan Williams (linebacker), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jordan Williams (linebacker).

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|FormalDude}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Request reason:

I am writing to request to be unblocked which I recently saw I was blocked for 60 hours. I am confused about the reasoning for the block as I have contributed to Wikipedia by editing hundreds, if not thousands of pages and making sure that each edit is properly cited and follows Wikipedia guidelines. I usually edit XFL and USFL teams, and player pages, especially more than usual with the news on a possible merger. If there are specific issues or concerns related to my edits, I am more than willing to fix them and make corrections to make sure I follow the Wikipedia policies, especially during an important period when multiple signings and other merger news are being revealed by both leagues. I kindly request that the block on my account be lifted. I hope nothing but to maintain the high standards of Wikipedia and continue to update pages and information as accurately as possible. Thank you

Decline reason:

Procedural decline as the block has expired, making this request moot. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:21, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Proposed deletion of Delonte Hood

edit

The article Delonte Hood has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to fail WP:SPORTCRIT, cannot find any significant coverage and none shown in article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. You removed required accessibility natures such as table captions per MOS:DTAB, MOS:TABLECAPTION, etc. Why did you do this? Please restore these ASAP. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 08:51, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I see you have been active since I posted this, yet have not responded. I'm going to have to ask a third party to intervene if you won't comply. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 18:46, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
hey, I guess I am just a little bit confused as to what the problem is, as I used the same format as all of the other 7 UFL teams. I have been changing and updating these for a little while now and I have never ran into this problem. Could you help guide me a little bit further so I can understand what needs to be done? Thank you Danjobilly1 (talk) 19:27, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for asking. You edited the article to remove semantics like the scopes and the table captions, which are used by (among others) the blind to navigate the site. Why did you do this? Have you seen MOS:DTAB? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 19:58, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Looking back at the dates of the edits I made those edits because they did not match the other 7 UFL teams that have Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Defensive Coordinator history. They have never been edited to how they were on January 29, and, if im not wrong, in the past they have always been the same to how the current set up is. Danjobilly1 (talk) 20:50, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, a lot of tables need to have these added not removed from the ones that do. Have you seen MOS:DTAB? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 21:03, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
yes i just looked at MOS:DTAB. But neither of the other 7 team have had this problem nor were every edited like this in the past correct ? Danjobilly1 (talk) 03:43, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
There are only 24 hours in a day. I can only do so much, especially when someone else undoes what I do for no clear reason. It's super frustrating. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:22, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Are you going to restore these or not? If you refuse, I will have to escalate this issue. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 06:39, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
So it looks like you are not. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 20:22, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
