Hi, thanks for spotting the typo in the title of this page... I'm kind of embarassed it was there for so long. But the proper way to fix a page title is to move the page (using the move button, next to the history and edit buttons). Simply blanking and copying and pasting as you did is not a good solution for various reasons. You should be able to move pages, but if not there is always Wikipedia:Requested moves. I agree that the information is useful, but the CSA was created in 2000 and to act as if it existed prior to that is inaccurate and can lead to misperceptions of Census methodology. The data can be presented both accurately and usefully in pages presenting the individual MSA areas. When I edited the page I put accuracy foremost. --User:Chris24 04:08, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I have updated Louisville-Jefferson County, KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area with the correct Census numbers going back to its creation in 1950 and have made sure that all counties within the CSA (and those bordering them) have populations represented back to 1900. I hope this will both represent accurate population numbers and avoid any confusion. is apparently upset over my editing of the Louisville-Elizabethtown-Scottsburg, KY-IN Combined Statistical Area entry, I will resort to facts instead of attacks.

CSAs did not exist prior to December 7, 2000 and MSAs did not exist prior to 1950. Although the Louisville MSA has existed since 1950, it has been comprised of different counties at different censuses. Simply adding previous county populations to a current census defined place does not mean that those figures are accurate for previous years. When Louisville merged with Jefferson County in 2003 it did not change Louisville's population statistics for previous years. In 1960 the population of Louisville was 390,639 and the population of Jefferson County KY was 610,947. To state that the 1960 population of Louisville was 610,947 would not be accurate because the merger of governments had not yet occurred. The same is true for MSAs and CSAs. Just because some numbers add up to 4,094,243 it does not make it a factual and verifiable population statistic. All I have done in any editing is to be completely truthful, factual, and verifiable. Since the Census Bureau is already cited as the source in the Demographic section for individual counties, I did not want to be redundant by citing the same source twice. The specific page for Ohio counties can be found at this Census website. --User:Chris24 03:45, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Merger on Cincy Metro Area article
editWhile I did not choose the article title, I left it as it was (and went with the suggested merge direction) because I felt that retaining the generic metro area title allowed the article to discuss all three MSA definitions. This is one case where I felt ambiguity was preferable, as the three MSA levels (from my reading of it, anyway) are basically the same except that a couple of extra counties are added at each level. It may be better for the redirects to flow toward the highest-level MSA. I was primarily going with the suggested merge direction. --Carl (talk|contribs) 04:10, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- I realize that you did not choose the article title, but my opinion is that we should be editors and not authors. Supposed vandalism to List of U.S. state mottos
editWhere is this act of vandalism? All I did was to add the official state motto of Kentucky and make sure that both the state motto and the state latin motto were both there. editI remembered accreditation being a criterion, but forgot about the four-year part. BTW, maybe we should have some discussion about which pages get the Higher Ed Template. Should it only be for pages linked to by it? If so, I should remove it from Daymar. I've been wondering why it was on Mark Berger and Gatton College of Business and Economics. - I would think that the template would only be appropriate on the articles of the schools that are on the template. If it is on school article page and not on the template, it is almost an invitation for someone to add it to the template which would land us all back onto the talk page to come to another consensus about what is and what isn't included. I see no reason for it to be on the Mark Berger and Gatton College of Business and Economics articles as both are related to (and already link) to the University of Kentucky which is already on the template. editWikiProject Louisville is sprouting its wings for 2007! We have a new Assessment Department and a much more refined project template. We have nearly 1,000 articles catalogued for our project. And we still have a lot of work to do. We have 500 articles left to assess for quality, and all our articles, as always, need tender loving care. Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Eastwood, Louisville, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
