Archibald Tuttle
Welcome to the English version of Wikipedia.
I note you are French and have made stellar contribution to the French version.Wondered therefore if you would be interested in translating the following page into French for the French version:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOP_SCIENTISTS_OF_ALL_TIME
You would note that it a list of a poll from 80 Universities worldwide to determine 1000 top scientists of all time.you woudl note from the history that this is a very popular page and I am sure would be of interest to teh French readership.Keep up teh good work.Regards(Vr 06:39, 1 April 2007 (UTC))
Hello again
My students say tha another page which has links in Portugese and German might interest you.

- Hi Vr. Since your message was posted on April 1, I wondered if it was a joke. I will perhaps, consider translating the page about top 1000 scientists but only the introduction and of course not the whole list (interwiki will do for this robot job). Before doing this I want to investigate about the author, who has very few lines on the english WP. Archibald Tuttle 18:52, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Archibald Tuttle
I did not realise it was the 1st of April!!!!
Of course all that needs to be translated is the introduction-the names would appear as such. Thanks once again and regards.(Vr 10:06, 3 April 2007 (UTC))(10:05, 3 April 2007 (UTC))
- There appears a first problem, in that the author Philip Barker is reported here to be a scholar of the history of science and lectures in Nepal, India and Sri Lanka and not at all the most distinguished british archaeologist Philip Arthur Barker to whom the link refer. First solve this disambiguation problem and tell us who exactly is (or was) Mr Ph. Barker. Anyway I translated in french the article about the archaeologist (whom I must confess was somewhat unfamiliar to me) before realizing this gentleman has nothing to do with "top 1000 scientists". Hi again
No it is definitely not the archaelogist. There seems to be another Philip Barker in the google-a child psychologist.I think Prof.Ludmilla Jordanova who appears to be in the best position to tell you more about this Barker. Thanks again(Vr 06:00, 4 April 2007 (UTC))to have written the foreword may be in the best position to assist.Regards(Vr 06:00, 4 April 2007 (UTC))
Edward Flatau
editThanks for the entry on Edward Flatau on French wikipedia. I think that one or two of his books - one about migraine was translated into French. But I was never able to locate them. At the latter part of his life, after the First World War, he started to publish more in French instead of German. Piotr Flatau. 67.160.224.159 (d) 14 février 2008 à 18:11 (CET)
- My pleasure ! it's a rather uncommon and stimulating task to translate first hand material of such quality, from a genuine relative to a WP "entry". I particularly appreciated the abundant iconography you had the good idea to upload on Commons as GDFL images. Note that I still have to put the translating job to its end. By the way feel free to notify any important change you might introduce in non-french versions on the frWP article's discussion page so that I could take it into account. RE: French legend of anatomical sketch
editActually I am the author of the original English version of the nervous system diagram. The person who was kind enough to translate the diagram into French was User:Medium69 from the French Wikipedia. Perhaps if you get into contact with them, they can help you with the correction :)!¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 17:41, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
