Hello,

My name is Sam DelBrocco, I am a senior studying Psychology as well as Public Relations at University of Dayton. I am interested in studying and working more in the area of cognitive Psychology. With that I would like to narrow my study even further by investigating the cognitive aspects of emotions. I am here on Wikipedia to further my studies in all areas of psychology as well as learn from others findings.

Hi, this is Dr. D. I have reviewed, briefly, the interesting articles you have posted to your queue and find these articles very doable: Psychological adaptation, Hidden personality. The article, Cognition, is too broad to add detail that isn’t found in subtopics scattered around Wikipedia. The article, Memory span, is a fairly well-developed look at the history of this topic, so I don't suggest you work on this. Finally, Cultural neuroscience is ok, too, if you would like to work on it. So, please settle on one, given my comments, and use that one for your project. Thank you, WebFlower1 (talk) 20:58, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

OUTLINE

INTRODUCTION For the introduction, one of the first things I am going to add to the wikipedia article is information about Zeitgeist. This will be good in introducing the idea that pressures of certain times helped to persuade the studies in psychology at the time. This is a common theme throughout many of the sources I found because it helps explain the concept that the time makes the psychological findings. In order to make sure that this article is elaborate and still unbiased, I will only acknowledge that the Zeitgeist is a part of what influences psychological adaptation but I will not be biased in saying that it is the only reasoning behind these adaptations. The article is extremely short and does not have a lot of information, therefore I will want to separate the article into more sections. One paragraph for each topic. The introduction and then evolution, Zeitgeist and adaptation into three other paragraphs. The article contains links but not a lot of them. I would definitely include links where they are needed. When I describe certain terms I will include links that way the article will not seem redundant. Finally, with the structure of the article, I need to make sure I include headings and subheadings, that way it becomes more organized. Also I will include the appropriate footnotes and references when needed to guide the reader to the articles and books used for information.

Hi, Sam! I'm Kaitlin, your first peer editor. 1. Your first paragraph is more than adequate! It gives a great overview of the concept presented in the article with lots of links to other material and sufficient background information.

2. I can't tell exactly what you added, but I do see a reference in the opening section along with well formatted references and many wiki-links!

3. Many of the difficult terms are linked to full articles and explained with surrounding information. Even with a deep understanding of the mechanism, I can understand everything in the article.

4. There are many wiki-links! This helps the article connect with other ones and provide a fluidity throughout all of Wikipedia.

5. A neutral view point is definitely maintained throughout the article. The definition and its basic properties are given along with many references to scholarly works.

6. All facts are cited from reputable sources along with many wiki-links. Even external links are provided for further reading.

7. I couldn't even distinguish from the newly written material and the old! The language is continuous and very well-worded.

8. All verb tenses are uniform and your grammar is beautiful!

9. I'm not positive, but if a psychological adaptation is often called an EPM, as its referred to in the rest of the article, maybe you should consider renaming the the article EPM...?

10. The important aspects of a psychological adaptation are highlighted and numbered: this makes the article very readable.

11. Many links are provided, which helped me understand more of the concept and its surrounding stuff.

12. There are many references correctly formatted at the end of the article, but there is one in the opening paragraph that says: [dead link]. Not sure what's wrong here, but maybe just check the URL of the website the reference is to and then update that.
