Comment: This article has gotten a lot of attention and so has its topic. The article may be nominated as a good article in the near future if it can.

Since YummyDonutsmmm, who created the article, has been blocked for socking, I will take over this DYK. After all, I made a duplicate article which YummyDonutsmmm copied and pasted into his article (resolved here). Give me a few days, and I will mark ready for a re-review when I am done with the fixes. Everything checks out as OK. Please note that this is not the place to argue about the rightness of an AFD closure. More exciting hooks are possible, but this one is sufficiently interesting. Let's reword it, however, to deemphasize the article title:

REWORDED HOOK ... that the series of arson fires that began on December 29, 2011 was the worst set of arson events in Los Angeles since the 1992 riots? --Orlady (talk) 22:59, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
