Irrelevant information in table

edit

An editor added a table entitled "List of singles, with selected chart positions, showing year released and album". However, no album has been released, so the editor added "TBA" as a placeholder. The table also lists the "peak position" on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, yet none of the songs listed in the table ever charted. Because Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, it is not helpful to add columns to a table in the hope they may one day be filled in. I have twice revised the table to include only relevant and verifiable information, but the editor has twice reverted the edit. The input of other editors would be appreciated. You could've just @ me. I have this page on my Watchlist too you know. I would like to bring in @Ss112: into this conversation. JustDoItFettyg (talk) 18:30, 25 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I agree with removing albums listed as "TBA" in their own section and columns Chigga has not yet charted on. However, I do support leaving the R&B/HH column in the singles section as is at the moment, as he has charted on the Bubbling Under R&B chart and having the note next to the dash is standard. I also prefer listing chart information in tables rather than lists, even if the information is simple. Ss112 18:38, 25 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Ss112, you are an experienced editor and no doubt familiar with both WP:CRYSTAL and WP:VERIFY. A core policy of Wikipedia is that edits must be supported by reliable sources. There are 100 charts recognized by Wikipedia. I'm sure you would agree that adding all of them and holding our fingers in the hope this musician charts on one of them is sloppy editing. The "bubbling under" chart isn't the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and leaving that chart on the article is deceptive to readers. Would you mind deleting the unsourced and unsupported content from this table? If I do it I will be edit waring with JustDoItFettyg. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:00, 25 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yes, thank you, I am aware of them, but besides the album being set as "TBA", which I removed anyway, there is no unreferenced content, otherwise I would have removed it. The R&B Bubbling Under peak is supported by a reliable source. Also, we're not talking about adding "100 charts". There is one column here for one chart—the Bubbling Under extension of the R&B chart. (Initially I was going to argue that since the note applies to the song charting on an extension of the listed chart and this is what basically every other discography with a Bubbling Under peak included on Wikipedia does, but I can't be bothered.) I've changed the column to the R&B Bubbling Under chart now, to allay any concerns. I just don't see what the big deal is and I don't think there's anything left to say. This maintains the integrity of WP:CHART. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:44, 26 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yup, this seems fine! Thank you. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 11:20, 26 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Birth date: 2 or 3 September?

edit

I just leave this topic here so we can discuss it here. --Hddty. (talk) 12:53, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

In interview with GQ he said he never been in the US until 2017. Before he went to US, he always tweet his happy birthday tweet every year since 2012, here is the tweet taken from his verified Twitter account since 2012-2016 (missing 2014): 2012 tweet, 2013 tweet, 2015 tweet, 2016 tweet. In 4 years consecutive, all timestamp always consistently shows 3 September.
Please note the time difference between Eastern and Western time, for example GMT 7 (Jakarta) is 15 hours ahead PST (some US & Canada), 3 out of 4 tweet above posted at midnight: (2012 - 12:31 AM · Sep 3), (2013 - 12:07 AM · Sep 3), (2015 - 10:15 AM · Sep 3), (2016 - 12:38 AM · Sep 3). With 15 hours difference it may still appears on 2 September in some countries (but remember in an interview he said he never been in the US until 2017, so all the tweet is not in US time), this is why some contributors see it as exact 2, some contributors see it as exact 3, and both keep changing it back and forth.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but birth date of people should follow by the place where he was born, so it should write on: (the date either it's on 2 or on 3) September, (follow by the place where he was born) in Jakarta, Indonesia, not other countries.
Please help me to verify it by set your Twitter account time zone setting and adjust your computer/phone/device time to match the place where he was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, time zone (GMT 7)/(UTC 7)/(WIB) first and don't forget to refresh the tweet. Because using all the preference to set it based in Jakarta, Indonesia, both Twitter and my device time setting. I see all his birthday tweet posted on 3 September. Thank you. On 5 April 2018, on his verified Twitter account, the artist tweeted a picture WP:ABOUTSELF with a note contains ""1999" (a calendar or something that says september 3 1999)". On 25 July 2018, a french media company Konbini uploaded a video on their verified YouTube channel titled Fastlife - Rich Brian at 0:06 - 0:09 timestamp, the artist said "September 3rd 1999 – Jakarta". Singles Misinformation/Missing Single

This page says "Love In My Pocket" is a non-album single, but it's really on his upcoming EP "1999". Also, you should add "Don't Care" to this page. It's on the same EP.

Thank you for your correction. Can you please provide a reliable source which supports this contention? Cheers ‡ Єl Cid of Valencia talk 22:59, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
@El cid, el campeador: I'm not sure what counts as a reliable source but I'll throw a few out there. 1) This website mentions the announcement of the album and "Love In My Pocket" being included https://www.nme.com/en_asia/news/music/rich-brian-drops-new-song-dont-care-ahead-of-release-of-1999-ep-2730770 2) This is a link to the "Don't Care" single on Apple Music. This song isn't mentioned on the page. https://music.apple.com/us/album/dont-care-single/1526303565 3) Here is the tweet in which the tracklist for the EP is revealed. It includes both "Love In My Pocket" and "Don't Care". https://twitter.com/richbrian/status/1296814767286484993?s=20 4) Here is the tweet in which the EP "1999" was announced. https://twitter.com/richbrian/status/1294867390103265281?s=20
Thank you, I have made these changes. We generally avoid using Twitter as a source, but here it is sufficient; additionally, NME source discusses the Pocket song being featured on 1999. ‡ Єl Cid of Valencia talk 18:04, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
