Licensing of series

edit

A press release on Anime News Network states that Crunchyroll is the Master Licensee of the series. You will note that at the beginning of the press release, this includes: "video, BD/DVD, merchandise and other downstream rights", thus allocating Crunchyroll as the licensee, not Funimation. ([1])

Funimation are NOT the licensee of the series, which is what is asked for in the main infobox; they dub and dstribute the home video releases on CR's behalf. Having dubbing rights does not grant having the rights to the license of the entire series. Funimation are also distributing home video releases on behalf of Crunchyroll, as Crunchyroll do not distribute the home video products. As a result, there is a confusion between who licenses the series. Distribution rights are a part of the master licensee rights. The infobox is asking who licensed the series, not who distributed the series. Alex Tenshi (talk) 12:04, 21 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
