Picture of the Stardust II (2010)

Um. As of this writing it looks like a picture of a rubber band powered balsa wood flier. I don't think Chili is *quite* that poor. Um. So, is wikipedia getting vandalized by an intelligent vandal, did someone screw up, or is that actually an accurate picture? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.133.78.56 (talk) 06:41, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

This list has a number of external links in the two sections at the bottom of the page, and under normal circumstances, some of these could be considered "linkspam". It is the ultimate goal of the UAV project here at Wikipedia to eventually have individual articles for most of these. In the mean time, please indulge those of us who are working on this project by allowing these links to remain in the list. Thanks. Akradecki 03:43, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The open source Apeliotes project has upgraded and moved to [1] from [2]. Removed old and updated list accordingly.

I've done some checking while cleaning up the list, and it seems that this one is a hoax, no verifiable refs. I've listed it for AfD, if anyone is interested in putting their oar in the water. Akradecki 18:54, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Italian UAS to be updated

edit

Hello everybody, I noted that the list of Italian UAS is not up to date.

First of all let me say that most of systems now belong to the company Leonardo, Airborne&Space Systems division, that incorporated Finmeccanica Selex ES (since 2015), Selex Galileo (since 2013) and former Galileo Avionica and Meteor. This applies to all the aerial targets. Furthermore UAS of mini class are missing, such as Asio-B and Spyball-B VTOLs, Crex-B fixed wing. You can find information on Finmeccanica/Leonardo website. These systems have a military type certification and are delivered to Italian Army. As far as the Hero is concerned, remark that Sistemi Dinamici is part of Leonardo, Helicopter division. Other companies UAS to mention are IDS with its Manta and Colibrì, or the Strix from Alpi Aviation. These information can be found on companies websites, further small UAVs may also be mentioned.

If anybody has time to update the list, thanks in advance. Maurizio — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.46.206.134 (talk) 15:01, 1 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Issues with Pakistan section

edit

The Pakistan section of this article includes an introductory paragraph that seems to lack the neutrality expected of a wikipedia article and is completely lacking in any citations to support statements like: referring to Pakistans UAV program as "highly active and successful" and "foreign countries who have not been keen to supply UAVs to Pakistan, despite the fact that they would be useful in Pakistan's operations against terrorists". 174.70.135.158 (talk) 06:13, 13 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Thanks for your input. I have a first pass attempt at cleaning up the section and removed drones which were sourced from alibaba. You were right that the introduction is not really required since no other country has one and was also POV plus unsourced. Any other help is appreciated since I feel that section needs further cleaning up. Thanks once again. Adamgerber80 (talk) 15:03, 13 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Section drone from Germany

edit

The list contains for German drones the Fieseler Fi 103 "V1" which shouldn't been listed here, because it is not a drone type of aerial vehicle but a cruise missile. Other cruise misses aren't listed here as well. It should be moved to the list of cruise missiles.

North Korea section

edit

Excuse me... Why you Adamgerber80 are labeling NK News,The Diplomat and Chosun Ilbo(also Yonhap) and other sources simply as "random news", do you object the content or are you uninformed? I fail to see your logic to label informations that are on topic and fullfil/complement each other as it also informs people of state of North Korean UAV's. Your move of reversing under reason "random news" which is your opinion that doesnt recognize significance of several sources sheeding light on the subject.

Might as well remove articles by North Korea Tech and 38 North due to removal of equal caliber such as NK News and The Diplomat to upholad standard you set yourself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.219.43.96 (talk) 22:51, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Adamgerber80:

Noticed your username in edit history, checked talk, no reply to that user. I will restore content. Gwailofeng (talk) 00:43, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Gwailofeng: This is per WP:CRYSTALBALL. That is also a possibility but we have no concrete information about it. Secondly, the editor never pinged me, nor have you. Please do not restore content just because of the reason mentioned above. Adamgerber80 (talk) 01:53, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I see I made mistake with pinging, atleast you could have admit I attempted, doesnt mere mention of your username pop up alert/notification? Anyway From what I can see a lot of times articles in Wiki often have informations that arent concrete and I get sense of double standard, specialy history related. @Adamgerber80: Gwailofeng (talk) 10:43, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Adamgerber80: vast majority sources you removed/reverted don't fall under WP:CRYSTALBALL with it content that deals with past, not future. It is very questionable to remove sources such one from 38 North as you removed up to date article and one article from page affiliated with it then removal of Yonhap and Chosun Ilbo, major news outlets in South Korea which covered drone incidents with North Korea. Removal of NK News is very questionable too, are you removing it due to not being able to access the article? You can via twitter hyperlink at their twitter account. Gwailofeng (talk) 10:56, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Gwailofeng: I am not questioning the sources. Most if not all of them meet WP:RS. I am removing them since we have little information about these possible systems. To the fact that even don't even have their names and they are "believed" to be under development. This falls under WP:CRYSTALBALL since we are theorizing their existence and basing a lot of this on assumptions. Let's wait for more concrete information on them before we add them. Adamgerber80 (talk) 19:09, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Adamgerber80: Majority of information you have removed are not of possible, but in fact are actual systems that exist and are not a theory by fact of actual evidencd such as images of them and captured examples. Panghyon 1/2 exist as evident by tourist who by chance managed to take snapshot of it, similar to early Chinese drones. [1] Are you going to claim details evident by captured examples are assumption? Please hold any object, describe it and then tell yourself you are yourself making assumption about the object despite holding it and analyzing it yourself. I read sources and I am seeing how can you assert what you assert for vast majority. You essentialy claim past is future. That is my honest view of your actions. I wont sugarcoat. Remove what doesn't fall under WP:RS yet it you don't restore anything then apply standard to every other UAV section, then remove almost all of it. Gwailofeng (talk) 21:27, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Gwailofeng: I have explained to you that most names are based on possibilities with no confirmation. We cannot list here that a drone exists with them which is a possible copy of something. That content possible belongs in the NK Armed forces section. Here the list is pretty precise and we should try to keep it that way. Pinging @BilCat: who also has contributed on this page in the past for their views. Adamgerber80 (talk) 18:42, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Regardless of whether they have a reference added, shouldn't all red-linked and non-linked entries be removed per WP:NOTDIR. We don't need an exhaustive list here, but a list of wikipedia articles about unmanned aerial vehicles would still be useful - although how much more useful than a category is questionable. 10mmsocket (talk) 15:32, 29 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

OK. First phase completed - removed any text-only entries with no references, or any red-linked entries with no-references. Still a good percentage of the article is referenced plain text (not linking to a Wiki article) or red-linked but with a reference. Should these be the next stage? --10mmsocket (talk) 16:36, 19 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
