I would like to know what others think about the article above. To me the theater is part of Brooklyn's History, and Hollywood History.

Status of the Organ (December 2014)

edit

Has anyone located verifiable information on the outcome of the October 2014 engineering evaluation for the 4/26 Wonder Morton organ installation? There is an ongoing edit war where an anonymous user will remove the "false information" as published on 16 October 2014 by a local Brooklyn paper but without citing their own verification. On Wikipedia we are required to cite verifiable sources for any information we enter here (see WP:Verify. "Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors.") Even if ISP editors are sure that their information about the organ is true, this must be verifiable before it can be added. "When reliable sources disagree, present what the various sources say, give each side its due weight, and maintain a neutral point of view." It would help to have a web site, news article, news letter, engineering report, etc. My own check of the ATOS and NYTOS websites turned up no mention of an effort to raise $650K needed.Blue Riband► 19:52, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Celebrity stories

edit

I have deleted a para with speculation that certain celebrities worked at or appeared at Loew's Kings. While charming and well circulated, this information is completely unsubstantiated, and as it involves living persons should not be reposted without a verifiable source. In fact, in the New York Post Article linked below there's a statement that representatives of Stallone and Winkler contacted the paper to say that the stories are untrue. Barbra Streisand earlier denied another similar story that she worked at the theatre. If a reliable source can be found about Ben Vereen, then great. I could only find a quote from him that his mother worked at the theatre and that he had been able to get in to see the closed-circuit televised Ali-Liston fight showing in 1964. Here's the NY Post link: http://nypost.com/2015/01/17/unveiling-brooklyns-magnificently-restored-kings-theatre/ Best wishes, Markhh (talk) 14:13, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
