Lane and Brewer split

edit

Where did you discover that Lane split with Brewer, or vice versa? --Noitall 02:01, August 18, 2005 (UTC)

Sobriety and clean up

edit

Should it be added to this article that Jani Lane swore to clean up his act at the end of Celebrity Fit Club 2? It seems to be relevant and noteworthy...

Sean E. River Project

edit

Jani Lane was also in Sean E. River Project about the time he left Plain Jane and he joined Warrant, but I might have trouble finding references for this. This was only very briefly, and they were never intended to be a long term band. Gringo300 05:40, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Where are the references?

edit

This article really needs some references. I wouldn't be surprised if someone gutted the entire article as a violation of WP:BLP. Andy14and16 (talk) 03:33, 6 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

This reads like a press release.--151.201.115.183 (talk) 17:04, 12 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

The first section in particular has POV problems. ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.65.196.161 (talk) 14:44, 13 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ok, someone could at least add a picture of Jani. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.131.65.60 (talk) 16:48, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Is the last sentence in the "Death" section just extremely poorly worded, or is one of his stepdaughters really named "Ryan"...? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.236.22.236 (talk) 03:23, 18 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

why was 'wife' changed to 'estranged wife' with absolutely no citation whatsoever?! what (if anything) is being covered up? he dies in a hotel room alone, without his wife, and this is glossed over without any concrete sources of information. completely unacceptable.144.212.3.4 (talk) 21:09, 18 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Subjective manner

edit

Much content in article is written from a subjective viewpoint, such as "It would take a few years before he had the confidence to be the frontman we would eventually know as 'The Song and Dance Man' of the mainstream generation", "the music scene on the Hollywood Sunset Strip seemed like the place to be if a band wanted to get a record deal so they rented a trailer and headed west", and "Mutual respect for creativity lasted for both of their lifetimes". A lot of supposition here without clear citation. If someone can suggest a better template message for this, please feel free to delete the peacock template and apply one more appropriate. Article issues (COI)

edit

I've rolled the article back to the last good version I could find as the version I read was rife with speculation, unneeded/unsourced content. According to the article's history, some accounts have been editing this article with information "from the immediate family". That's a conflict of interest, especially when it's clear that there is a very concerted effort to make this encyclopedic article that should only contain facts consisting of speculation and personal opinions. I have no strong feelings about Lane's death, but there shouldn't be unsourced speculation alluding to murder or whatever. This article should be neutral and it is not a space for people to throw out unfounded conspiracies. There's no rule specifying that people connected to a subject cannot edit an article about that subject, but it is against Wikipedia rules for people with a conflict of interest to use articles to put forth unsourced speculation, original research and opinions. If speculation about Lane's death is sufficient, there should be reliable sources detailing it. If that's the case, a consensus can be reached about whether to include that content. Otherwise, edits "per the family" need to stop. Start a blog if you want to delve into speculation about Lane. This article should detail why Lane was notable and include pertinent reliable facts accompanied by reliable sources about his life. 2602:306:8383:E010:245F:FF62:B922:D0DC (talk) 02:02, 25 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Referencing my earlier comment, a belated thanks for cleaning up that mess. 73.252.40.55 (talk) 02:15, 6 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Jani Lane Football

edit

This is missing his high school football career and scholarships to play at Ohio State and Kent. 68.191.47.3 (talk) 11:43, 1 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Fake PR nonsense

edit

No American woman named her son "John Kennedy Oswald" in February 1964. It never happened. Some gullible reporter fell for an obviously BS joke story. Lane being being drugged and raped by another famous metal singer and his manager should probably be added in to the article though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.166.163.235 (talk) 20:55, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
