Buffy soundtrack
editMention should also be made of their other US hit 'Ain't gonna eat out my heart anymore' from the Buffy Sountrack. 60.226.111.150 12:53, 4 February 2006
Charlie Drayton
editNeed to link to more info on Charlie Drayton, who is a very interesting musician. Although he often drums for Divinyls, he is better known as a bass player, and his credits are huge.Leeborkman 01:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Divinyls... plural
editJust an explanation. Xanzzibar changed "Divinyls are" to "Divinyls is", and I reverted to "Divinyls are". There are three reasons for this... First, because in Australia, we generally follow British grammar, and the convention in British English is to use plural verb with a musical group. Second, because in both British and American English, a plural-seeming band name, by convention, takes a plural verb. See American_and_British_English_Differences, where this is put more succinctly. And third, because "Divinyls is", even if it were correct, is decidedly unnatural to my ears. Hope that's okay. Leeborkman 14:14, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- I would support you 100%. Another example : "The Beatles were a British band", not "The Beatles was a British band. :-) Rossrs 14:25, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- I read somewhere the simple, common-sense test. If you would call the band "they", then use plural. If you would call the band "it", then use singular. "Remember the Divinyls? It was a great band." YUCK. "Remember the Divinyls? They were a great band". YES. Leeborkman 23:50, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
The Divinyls
editfolks, for the last time, just because a band doesn't put a "the" before it's name on record covers (see the ramones, the pixies, the eagles, or the eurythmics) doesn't mean you don't say it. this is a matter of common sense, people. Message moved here from Category:One-hit wonder artists
editErr, Divinyls are NOT one hit wonders! Where the HECK do you get such an incorrect idea?? They have had many hit albums and singles over the past 20 years!
Please correct this erroneous information! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 59.167.159.169 (talk • contribs) 08:17, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Proposed major edits
editI intend further wikifying this article including adding in-line refs, sectioning and tidying up. The process may take one to two weeks and interim stages may look disorganised / incomplete but hopefully I will be able to get it up to B-class. I expect my first major edit will be in one or two days.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 07:03, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- 3rd major edit completed, hopefully the refs support more of the content and sectioning has improved. I'm not entirely happy with the Lead, the band members list and the soundtrack subsection. A good legal photo would help. Notwithstanding these criticisms I believe it is now B class.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:54, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- The article still needs major work. The intro fails to do its job, launching into song and video details (some of which are incorrect) that are not needed at this point. Poor grammar and punctuation abound. I'll look at this as time permits. Grimhim (talk) 04:16, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Re-rating article to reflect extent of changes needed. Grimhim (talk) 04:46, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Intro now shortened to be a more concise summary as per WP:LEAD. Grimhim (talk) 10:16, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Songwriting collaborations
edit"During the 1980s and 1990s Amphlett collaborated as a songwriter with other artists including Chrissie Hynde and Cyndi Lauper" Can some details be added of the songs involved ? RGCorris (talk) 20:34, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- Sure. While I'm not certain of the details of the 'collaboration', Cyndi recorded "Like a Cat" for her A Night to Remember album, and Chrissie covered "Human on the Inside" (re-titled "Human") with her band the Pretenders.Nqr9 (talk) 02:31, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- "Human on the Inside" is credited to Mark McEntee and Shelly Peiken - so if Chrissy Amphlett worked with Chrissie Hynde in a songwriting collaboration, it isn't on that song. RGCorris (talk) 16:53, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of any specific collaboration with Chrissie Hynde, but am only a casual fan. If the information is inaccurate, feel free to change it.Nqr9 (talk) 09:35, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
