I' m from the German Wikipedia and have seen in the historic German newspaper "Tuebinger Chronik" of 11/2/1897, that in Cimmaron a Mrs. Curtis who had a store in Cimmaron has been elected as mayor. First the intention of this very early vote of a woman was for fun, but she became the best mayor the city had ever seen. She was competent for the rehabilitation of the finances.
