Understanding the Greek Orthodox Church
editI reverted a large, unwikified text dump that was made into this article. The text seemed identical to that found at this page:
http://www.myriobiblos.gr/texts/english/constantelos.html
which attributes itself to a 1990 book: "From: Understanding the Greek Orthodox Church, Hellenic College Press, Boston 1990."
Unless copyright permission can be vouched for, I fear it cannot be allowed to stay. -- Smerdis of Tlön 04:36, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- It's ok, I bet the text was copy/pasted from someone from within the greek orthodox church :)

- PS: i was being totally ironic back then. holy crap... Myriobiblos are a well known hard-core old-calendar religious bigots in Greece Project2501a (talk) 22:47, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Jurisdiction?
editWhy exactly have the borders of the Church of Greece's authority not changed with the borders of Greece itself? --Jfruh (talk) 03:30, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- because it is a political game between the archiodiwhaterver and the Patriarch of Istanbul. Project2501a (talk) 22:45, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Map of "jurisdictions"
editThe map of religious "jurisdictions" is not accurate, especially as regards the "New Lands". The latter belong indeed canonically and spiritually to Constantinople, but administratively they belong to the Church of Greece. My point is that the map is too "simplistic", and does not reflect the complex reality.Yannismarou (talk) 12:51, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Millions
editIn July, there was an edit:
- updated with additional information. also, I didn't change it, but the number of adherents should be changed. the article cited doesn't say 10 million, (but 10% of the population). Only 6 million of Greece's peopl are within the Church of Greece's territory
It had been 10 million before, but the next edit made it 17! 17 million. No. It is ('only') about 9 million. Nine Million, with some Christians being not member of this church. --129.69.140.138 (talk) 11:06, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Lists update required - June 2021 acid attack
editThe published names of the Metropolitans injured in the June 2021 acid attack in Athens (see https://anglican.ink/2021/06/23/7-greek-bishops-injured-in-acid-attack/ ) does not match up with the list of Metropolitans in this article in the case of the sees of Arta and Glyfada. It would seem that an update might be required. Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk) 03:21, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
