Name

"Great Illyrian Revolt" is only found in a handful of sources and is inappropriate for use as the article name per conventions. Rather, "Bellum Batonianum" (war/uprising of the Batons), the original name used in historiography, is to be used.--Zoupan 00:21, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

Nope. Not the common English name by a country mile.

If the Pannonian Revolt only refers to the AD 14 mutiny mentioned in the #Aftermath section, I'd understand moving to Illyrian Revolt (You're right: not "Great Illyrian Revolt"), which only appears to be less common than Bellum Batonianum because of German &c. usage which we ignore. That doesn't seem to be the case, though: Most of these results are talking about the AD 6 conflict as well and it's by far the more common name. — LlywelynII 23:46, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

However, we don't usually refer to wars by their Latin names; article titles with Bellum generally refer to titles of Latin or Greek histories of these wars, not the wars themselves. Cynwolfe (talk) 17:26, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
