Baroclinic instability and Baroclinic vector be merged into this article or section.
editSomebody else suggested it...looks like a good idea, but keep each article and turn it into a subsection of this article. --Hard Raspy Sci 17:47, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Barring substantial expansion of respective articles, I agree with the merger, and also agree that all non-superfluous information should be retained. Evolauxia 15:01, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

It would be helpful to show how the vertical gradients translate into horizontal motion, and then rotation. An animation might be even better. -- Beland (talk) 03:24, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Beland; You might find what you want here. I know it isn't what you asked for, but is this file also useful? An image which contrasted baroclinic and barotropic might be helpful. HLHJ (talk) 09:38, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the pointers, but I'm afraid I don't see anything of use in that category. The image to the right doesn't make much sense to me...it's hard to tell which direction the arrows are physically pointing, and the notation and black lines are not explained. -- Beland (talk) 07:15, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
