Greek soccer/football match notable?

A user has been making numerous entries regarding all things Greek. While som eof these make sense to me (e.g. birthdates of former Prime Ministers), some do not. I would like to hear you thoughts on deleting items such as this from the date page. My suggestion is to delete such material: "*1996 - Panathinaikos becomes the first Greek team to win the European Championships (now Euroleague) in Paris, beating FC Barcelona by 67-66." First I have to admit I know nothing about sports, American or any others (I tend to shy away from them for that reason). That being said, I know that football (soccer) is insanely popular everywhere in the world except the United States. I think that if it was a rivalry or a great upset it would be notable as has been the case in baseball, basketball and American football. Western Christianity

The page currently states that Latter-Day Saints believe that Christ was born on this day. However, this is only an assertion made by some Latter-Day Saints, based primarily, so far as I can tell, on a very literal reading of a passage in Doctrine and Covenants 20:1, which may not be intended to be a statement of doctrine, but merely a statement that it was the year 1830. While a couple of apostles have asserted this as well, others have disagreed, and the exact date is not a matter of official doctrine. I think we should probably at the very least back off the language, and perhaps omit the entry.

Be careful when using "the"

I'd say (and shall write) :

• The basketball European ... they have football, chess, and so on there!

Rwandan Genocide

I removed the words "by extremists" because no-one concretely knows who shot the president's plane down and guesses (no matter how probable they are) don't belong here. Dalai lama

The UK fiscal year, at least for some purposes, runs from April 6 to April 5. Where does that belong?

150th anniversary of debut of The Tempest (Sullivan)

April 6, 2011 will be the 150th anniversary of the first performance of Arthur Sullivan's suite of incidental music for The Tempest in Germany. Shayrat Airstrikes

I wrote a paragraph on the Shayrat airstrikes for last year, but it looks like someone thought they weren't notable enough. Looking at the guy's talk page, it looks like he has a history of undoing edits and saying they "aren't notable," then refusing to explain. On the Deaths section there is "1340 – Basil, emperor of Trebizond (Turkey)", this was before the Turk occupation, when Trebizond was Trebizond, before 'turkey' existed - which existed after the Ottoman Empire anyway. Middle More Rider (talk) 11:59, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
