Development and release

edit

Gravonaut was created using the GameSalad Creator game creation platform.[5] It features "retro-style" and 8-bit graphics.[2][6] The game was released as a mobile app game for iOS platforms, and was also released as a web browser game utilizing HTML5.[7]

Reception

edit

By March 2011, over 8,500 games were created using GameSalad Creator; Gravonaut was one of thirty to reach the top 100 on the iTunes App Store.[8] Kotaku's Sam Winstrom called the game "frustrating, yet addictive".[7] iFanzine stated that the game "does a superb job on putting a twist on the traditional platformer".[9] Arcade Life praised its 8-bit graphics and difficult gameplay.[10]
