Summary

Description
English: A train out of Lithgow NSW prepares to stop at Zig Zag, a small station ("request stop", "halt") on the way to Sydney, about 150 km away. Several passengers can be seen waiting on the platform. At the time when this picture was taken, boarding and alighting were through the last sliding door in the train only, and passengers wishing to board had to signal the driver as the train approached using a reflective paddlelike handheld signal (which was provided). At full size, one of the passengers can be seen replacing the handheld signal in its sheath. The Intercity logo on the train makes it clear that this was before the reorganization of train services in New South Wales.
