Article

Motor Torpedo Boat PT-59

Portion used

All

Low resolution?

Yes

Purpose of use

Essential identification of wiki historical topic, PT-59, President John Kennedy's command in WWII, only photo of the boat nearly sunk. Should actually qualify as public domain, but chose not to make it public domain.

Replaceable?

Boat sunk and very very few images exist, no detailed images at all

Other information

This photo is actually from a "public file" inferring that it is indeed public domain. Anyone may check the source to clearly see the words "PT Boats Public Group", which infers the photo is actually public domain. I chose to keep it as non-free use, as it is not likely to be needed by other wiki articles, but it does have vast historical significance as it was President John Kennedy's command in the Solomons in October-November, 1943
