King_and_Winge_shipyard_circa_1915.jpg (640 × 242 pixels, file size: 45 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
Summary
editThis is from original photographs that have come down in the family of one of the founders of the shipyard, Albert Winge, who died in 1916, and who was probably either the photographer or who commissioned the photograph. The yard was located in West Seattle. The photo looks south, the lookout tower is not part of the shipyard but was part of the first clubhouse of the Seattle Yacht Club, which was just south of the yard. Visible on the marine railway on the right is the sternwheeler Vashon.
