Copa de la Reina Champions!
The women team raised the Copa de la Reina cup after an exciting game against Real Madrid. After 120 minutes and with the score tied 2-2, the rojiblancas won the title in a penalty shootout.
Atlético de Madrid Women is 2022-23 Copa de la Reina Champion! The Red & White team conquered the cup after a magical night in Leganés, Madrid. Manolo Cano's squad tied the game in the final minutes with a goal of Lucía Moral (88') and a fantastic last minute free kick by Banini (96'). Both goals meant the tied and, after the extra time, the penalty stage decided the game. Lola Gallardo, with two saved penalties, became the woman of the match.
Despite the fact that Atleti started the match better, creating chances, Real Madrid would strike twice to tip the balance for the white side. The goals from Toletti and Ivana made the cup difficult for ours. Despite this, ours displayed the "never stop believing" and in a few final minutes of great emotion, they got the tie.
In extra time, the effort of both teams was noted, which seemed to sign the penalty shootout. The goals from Carmen Menayo, Irene Guerrero and Eva Navarro in it, as well as two fantastic saves from Lola Gallardo, proclaimed Atlético de Madrid Women Champion of the Copa de la Reina.
