Welcome! I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Previously I served on the legislative staff of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow. I hold a Ph.D. from Duke University.
My research has focused on advancing ideals of democracy and democratic equality in the U.S. I am interested in the ways democratic boundaries are created and reinforced by incarceration and by institutions of empire. My scholarship on these topics has appeared in venues including Political Theory, Polity, American Political Thought, State Politics & Policy Quarterly, and The Washington Post.
My work has been supported by fellowships from the Tobin Project, the Triangle Intellectual History Seminar, the Kenan Institute for Ethics, the APSA Centennial Center, and the Preparing Future Faculty program.
