Roots Bloody Roots
A downloadable game for Windows
Roots Bloody Roots is a multidimensional cat-and-mouse horror game where you play as the young girl Cahya. Her father Darma, a retired spirit-hunter; has passed forward his duty, knowledge and customized rifle to his daughter in order for her to keep up his legacy. Her first mission is to defeat a Buto Ijo who has claimed an entire museum.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
A long time ago, Buto Ijo were a vicious species of giant-kin who lived their lives full of greed. They would take over territories and devour everyone in their path. In claimed territories, tales tell of how people can hear whispers and yet they can see nothing. And if they make a noise — a sudden violent force appears right before they disappear.
Thanks to spirit hunters, the Buto Ijo were hunted to extinction. On rare occasions they can be summoned by cursed artifacts but only be seen in the spirit world. This world is another dimension which mirrors the normal world in it’s own wicked interpretation, draining the life of the living.
Follow Cahya on this thrilling journey and explore a museum filled with powerful artifacts. Enter the museum and face the Buto ijo, if you dare…

Little red hiding hood with a gun!
0/10 for scariness
what is this, sepultura?
A great little game! Good visuals and sound design, and being able to fight back against the scary monster certainly makes this one stand out from many other indie horror games I've played.
I had so much fun playing this game! I loves the mix of strategy & action aspect of the game. Hopefully more levels will be added; I would definitely play if so!
Thank you so much for playing Ash! Really appreciate hearing your commentary and thoughts on the game. Unfortunately more levels aren't planned as this only was a student project. Glad you enjoyed i though!
THIS WAS SO FUN TO PLAY!
Felt the tension everytime I heard the monster approach! Lightning, design and artwork were great!
Overall I wish there were more spirits to hunt. :)
Thank you so much Isak! Much appreciated hearing that! At the moment there are no plans for more spirits as this was a student project developed during 6 weeks but we have talked about it and would have loved to have more time implementing more things. But happy you enjoyed it and wish for more :)
It looks pretty good, but im playing with a gt 1030 and this is unplayable, it will be good if you optimize the game <3
I hear you :( Sadly it was out of reach for us to do time-wise as this was a student project developed over 6 weeks and we didn't actually have any programmers to help out with optimization. As one of the devs I really wish I had a stronger card than GTX1660Super but it seems to get the job done for me with this game.
Nice (and challenging) game. Congrats for your game, guys.
Thank you very much 5mg! Much appreciated, especially that you took your time looking around the museum once the job was done. Seems to be the first one to do so of what I've seen so far :)

92/100 VERY GOOD
That is a very high score, thank you! Nice cheesy strat by the way, will have to remember ways around that ;D
Very cool game, the environment was awesome and the monster was very unique, a longer and more fleshed out game would be excellent for this type of gameplay. Thank you for making this! 1st game.
Thank you Masstortoro! I agree with you that it's too easy but the difficulty was tweaked to have a broader appeal, not everyone is a pro ;)
This was a fun game was definitely different hunt the hunter and was really creepy
Happy too see you enjoyed it! Much appreciated, thank you for playing BroMasterplier! Sorry about the damage pick-up not stacking :p
Your welcome and its alright it was still playable thats all that matters lol keep up the good work

Huge compliment coming from an Indo player :D Thank you!
Much love and appreciation for playing!
Thank you Dev. 4/5
Thank you so much Gamers_nation!
Welcome. :)
This is a great game and I really enjoyed it. I kinda wish the mask gave you a buff for using it with the health decrease tradeoff. But otherwise, nice job.
Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/c/Levont
Thank you so much for playing Levont! Really fun to see your playthrough and reaction. As one of the devs, I really appreciate your feedback and am definitely taking it to heart, got me thinking about ways to improve the overall gameplay already :) Your further development ideas are great! Thank you and keep it up!
I really love small player vs big boss games, and this scratched that itch perfectly. A bit of farming was needed to take it down, but it felt so good to beat that creepy thing.
Thank you so much for playing Flamez! I really enjoyed watching your reaction playthrough and your feedback is much appreciated and noted :) Keep it up!

version set option graphic possibile?
Hi there! Sorry, I'm not sure what option for the graphics you mean? Unfortunately this was a student project and we didn't have the scope to implement different graphic options.
Such a good game, triggers my panic attacks in the right way. The soundtrack is amazing!!
