SCZONE’s Chairman received a delegation from the Kenya Special Economic Zone (SEZA), as part of the delegation’s tour inside Egypt to develop guidelines for evaluating special economic zones and operating manual for the economic zones program in Kenya. The visit aims to benefit from SCZONE’s experience with the entry of goods from SCZONE into the local market, in addition to exploring the system of taxes, customs, and exemptions. SCZONE signs 4 Framework agreements worth Eur 31,4 Bn during The Egyptian – EU Investment Conference for Green Ammonia production On the second day of the Egyptian-EU Investment Conference, held in Cairo under the patronage of H.E the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the President of the European Commission, which raises the slogan "Unleashing Egyptian Potential in a Rapidly Changing World", Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity, and Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, witnessed the signing ceremony of 4 projects for green ammonia production within the Sokhna and East Port Said integrated zones of #SCZONE, with a total investment of 31.4 billion euros, and an estimated annual production volume of 6 million and 241 thousand tons of green ammonia. The first framework agreement signed by the consortium includes BP Hydrogen, Masdar Green Hydrogen, Hassan Allam Utilities, and Infinity Power Holding, to produce 2.83 mn tons/year of green ammonia with a total investment of 13.5 billion euros. The second framework agreement was signed with Ocior Energy Holding to produce green ammonia, with a total investment of 3.9 billion euros, and an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of green ammonia, and commercial operations are expected to commence by the fourth quarter of 2029. The initial phase has a production capacity of 900,000 tons/year of green ammonia and is expected to commence commercial operations by Q4 of 2031. The third framework agreement was signed with the consortium of TAQA Arabia and VOLTALIA, worth €3.8 billion. It aims to establish a project to produce green ammonia in the Sokhna zone in two phases. The pilot phase has an annual production capacity of 355.7 thousand tons of green ammonia, with commercial operations expected to commence by Q4 of 2030. Prime Minister witnessed the signing of two agreements for SCZONE’s projects in Sokhna and East Port Said SCZONE participated in the Egyptian-European Investment Conference, under the patronage and honor of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, and Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and with the high-level participation of representatives of the Egyptian government, the European Union, multilateral institutions and the private sector from both sides, under the slogan "Unleashing Egyptian Potential in a Rapidly Changing World" This is to discuss several axes, most notably promoting innovation, economic leadership, sustainable development, and ways to attract investment to Egypt in green energy, automotive, logistics, pharmaceutical industries, and others. SCZONE signs a framework agreement for the establishment of the "Green Marine" chemical project for the Chinese "BEFAR" group in the "TEDA-Egypt" area in Sokhna Industrial Zone. This project will be built on three phases: the first phase on an area of 300,000 square meters, at an investment cost of $250 million, providing 795 job opportunities, targeting the production of 100,000 tons of caustic soda, 50,000 tons of hydrochloric acid, 40,000 tons of bleaching raw materials and decolorizers used in the textile and textile industry, and 10,000 tons of bromine ore and products extracted from it, with an annual revenue of $ 230 million annually. The second phase aims to expand the production of chlorine, polyether and polyurethane products to meet the local needs of some industries such as “automotive and building materials”, and to develop soda ash products for the manufacture of high-quality glass and other needs. The third phase will focus on C2-C5 local resources to develop advanced technologies in the production of new chemicals. اقتصادية قناة السويس توقع اتفاقية اطارية لإقامة مشروع "جرين مارين" للكيماويات لمجموعة "بينخوا" BEFAR الصينية بمنطقة "تيدا-مصر" بالسخنة وأوضح الاتفاق ان المشروع سيقام على ثلاث مراحل: المرحلة الأولى على مساحة 300 ألف متر مربع، بتكلفة استثمارية 250 مليون دولار، تتيح عدد 795 فرصة عمل، يستهدف إنتاج 100 ألف طن صودا كاوية، و50 ألف طن من حمض الهيدروكلوريك, و40 ألف طن من خامات التبييض و مزيلات الألوان المستخدمة في صناعة المنسوجات والاقمشة, و10 آلاف طن من خام البروميين و المنتجات المستخلصة منه، حيث يبلغ العائد السنوي 230 مليون دولار سنويًّا. أما المرحلة الثانية من المشروع تستهدف توسيع نطاق الإنتاج لمنتجات الكلور والبولي إيثر والبولي يوريثان لتلبية الاحتياجات المحلية لبعض الصناعات مثل السيارات ومواد البناء، وتطوير منتجات الصودا آش اللازمة لصناعة الزجاج عالي الجودة والاحتياجات الأخرى. والمرحلة الثالثة من المشروع ستركز على موارد C2-C5 المحلية لتطوير تقنيات متقدمة في انتاج مواد كيميائية جديدة. https://lnkd.in/d2GHadGa

رئيس اقتصادية قناة السويس يشهد مراسم الافتتاح الرسمي لمصنع "سرايا اليابانية الشرق الأوسط للاستثمار الصناعي" بالمطور الصناعي أوراسكوم للمناطق الصناعية داخل منطقة السخنة المتكاملة، ويعد المصنع أحد أهم الاستثمارات اليابانية بمصر، ويمتلك 4 خطوط إنتاج لتصنيع منتجات و مستلزمات التعقيم، ومستحضرات التجميل الطبيعية، وتعبئة السكر الطبيعي خالي السعرات الحرارية "لاكانتو"، واستخلاص زيت الجوجوبا الذى يتم تصديره لشركات التجميل العاملة بالقارتين الأوروبية والآسيوية، ويقع المصنع بمرحلتيه على مساحة 20 ألف متر مربع، باستثمارات تقارب الـ 12 مليون دولار. The factory is considered one of the most important Japanese investments in Egypt, and it owns 4 production lines for manufacturing sterilization products and supplies, natural cosmetics, bottling natural zero-calorie sugar “Lakanto,” and extracting jojoba oil, which is exported to cosmetic companies operating in the European and Asian continents. SCZONE’s East Port-Said Port received the ship Astrid Mærsk, which operates on green methanol. The ship arrived at the berth of the Suez Canal Container Terminal and the APM Terminal (#SCCT/APMT), on its first visit to the port. The ship is the 3rd to operate on green fuel among 18 ships that #Maersk seeks to complete between 2024 and 2025. Mr. Waleid Gamal El Dien, Chairman of #SCZONE stated that East Port-Said Port has achieved leadership in the transformation towards sustainable practices in the field of maritime and logistical services, as East Port Said Port was declared in 2017 as the first #green_port according to European Union and international standards. It also witnessed the first ship bunkering operation with #green_fuel (e-methanol) was carried out for the ship Laura Maersk in the Eastern Mediterranean and Africa in August 2023, and this trust comes as it is one of the most important Egyptian ports that receives 80% percent of the total container transshipment trade in Egypt. _________ استقبل ميناء شرق بورسعيد، التابع للهيئة العامة للمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس، السفينة Astrid Mærsk التي تعمل بالميثانول الأخضر، ووصلت السفينة إلى رصيف محطة حاويات قناة السويس و APM Terminal (SCCT/APMT) ، في أول زيارة لها للميناء، وتعد السفينة هي الثالثة التي تعمل بالوقود الأخضر ضمن 18 سفينة تسعى شركة ميرسك إلى الانتهاء منها ما بين عامي 2024 و 2025. وفي هذا السياق صرح السيد وليد جمال الدين، رئيس الهيئة العامة للمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس أن ميناء شرق بورسعيد حقق ريادة في مجال التحول نحو الممارسات المستدامة في مجال الخدمات البحرية واللوجستية، حيث تم إعلان ميناء شرق بورسعيد في 2017 كأول ميناء أخضر بمعايير الاتحاد الأوروبي والمعايير الدولية البيئية، كما تم من خلاله أول عملية تموين سفن بالوقود الأخضر (الإيميثانول) للسفينة "لورا ميرسك" في شرق المتوسط وإفريقيا في أغسطس 2023، وتأتي هذه الثقة كونه أحد أهم الموانئ المصرية التي تستقبل نسبة 80 % من إجمالي تجارة ترانزيت الحاويات في مصر. #الوقود_الاخضر

SCZONE receives a delegation of companies and institutions working in #green_fuel and Dutch official authorities in Sokhna Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the #Suez_Canal_Economic_Zone (#SCZONE), received at SCZONE's headquarters in Sokhna, a delegation of companies and institutions operating with green fuel, complementary #industries, and official supporting entities from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. To learn about the steps of SCZONE concerning green fuel, its production, storage, and ship bunkering, SCZONE aims to be the world's leading green fuel hub. the delegation went on an inspection tour of #Sokhna_Port to learn about SCZONE's efforts in its development to make it the largest port on the Red Sea. SCZONE received the Minister of International Cooperation and a delegation from (NDB), headed by Dilma Rousseff Mr. Waleid Gamal Eldien, MSc , Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received a delegation from the New Development Bank (#NDB), headed by Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President of the Bank and former president of Brazil, to explore SCZONE Closely and discuss possible aspects of cooperation with the Bank, in the presence of Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation. This visit coincides with the holding of the first forum of the New Development Bank (NDB) in Egypt under the title “Exploring New Horizons”. Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din pointed out that #SCZONE already has existing partnerships with the BRICS countries, most notably the partnerships with Chinese and Indian investments, which represented 45% of the total contracts of SCZONE in the recent period.
